Dubai Maritime Authority Boosts Marine Tourism in Hatta with Upgrades to Hatta Dam and Wadi Lim Lake
In 2025, the Dubai Maritime Authority (DMA), under the leadership of Sheikh Dr. Saeed bin Ahmed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum, has taken significant steps to enhance marine tourism activities in Hatta. This initiative aligns with Dubai’s strategic vision to position itself as a global tourism hub and reinforces Hatta’s reputation as an emerging travel destination.The DMA’s efforts, including a recent site visit to Hatta Dam, focus on ensuring safety, upgrading facilities, and improving the overall experience for visitors to marine attractions such as Wadi Lim Lake and Hatta Kayak. These measures demonstrate Dubai’s commitment to delivering world-class tourism experiences while adhering to stringent environmental and safety standards.
During a visit to Hatta, Sheikh Saeed met with H.E. Marwan Bin Ghalita, Acting Director General of Dubai Municipality, to discuss strategies for managing marine tourism and improving waterway facilities. The discussions emphasized collaboration between authorities to ensure that facilities and activities at Hatta Dam and other marine destinations meet the highest standards of safety and efficiency.
