US-Bangla Airlines Expands Horizon with Inaugural Abu Dhabi Flight
US-Bangla Airlines starts flights to Abu Dhabi, catering to Bangladeshi expats and strengthening Bangladesh-UAE ties.
US-Bangla Airlines, a major private carrier in Bangladesh, commenced its inaugural flight to Abu Dhabi this Friday, adding its third destination within the UAE. The service aims to meet the increased needs of the Bangladeshi expatriate community in Abu Dhabi.
The airline will conduct flights between Dhaka and Abu Dhabi on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, while flights from Chattogram will depart on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays at 5:50 PM, arriving in Abu Dhabi at 9:10 PM local time. This schedule was outlined in a recent press release.
Return journeys from Abu Dhabi are scheduled for 10:00 PM local time, reaching Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 4:50 AM on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, and Chattogram on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
The first flight, operated by a Boeing 737-800 with 174 passengers onboard, took off from Chattogram at 5:50 PM and is expected to land in Abu Dhabi at 9:10 PM local time, before continuing to Dhaka.
The introduction of flights to Abu Dhabi is seen as a significant step in strengthening bilateral relations between Bangladesh and the UAE. High-ranking officials from US-Bangla were present to send off the passengers on these initial flights from both Dhaka and Chattogram.
In addition to its international routes, US-Bangla Airlines also runs several domestic flights connecting Dhaka with major cities like Cox’s Bazar, Chattogram, Sylhet, Saidpur, Jashore, and Rajshahi.
Moreover, the airline has expanded its operations by adding four new weekly flights to the Dhaka-Chennai route, bringing its total weekly flights to eleven starting this Friday, April 19.
