Referring to this, Sandeep Srivastava, Municipal Corporation Commissioner, recounted the meticulous efforts initiated in 2010 to secure UNESCO recognition for the underground water structure, Khooni Bhandara. Following a comprehensive inspection by a UNESCO team in 2013 and the subsequent rectification of identified shortcomings, collaborative efforts between the district administration, municipal corporation, and the Madhya Pradesh government have led to the formulation of an action plan aimed at enhancing facilities for prospective domestic and international tourists and researchers.
