Tourist destinations in Kumaon to be developed under Manaskhand circuit
In a bid to boost tourism in the state, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has announced plans to develop tourist destinations in the Kumaon region. The minister said that the Kumaon is home to some incredible and gorgeous locations and has a potential. To make this possible, the government is planning for better road connectivity along with broadening of roads.The CM also said that as a pilot project, they are constructing a parking area near Kainchi Dham near Nainital which is famous as home to Baba Neem Karoli. Devotees line up in this temple from across the world. Therefore, the circuit is being developed in such a manner that tourists can visit various locations in a single visit.
Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj said that the department has already identified tourist locations in six Kumaoni districts. Before this, the government had identified Munisyari in Pithoragarh district, Kausani in Bageshwar, Katarmal in Almora, and Muketeshwar in Nainital, Lohaghat in Champawat and Parag Farm of Udham Singh Nagar under their project "13 districts, 13 new tourist destinations".
The minister further said that Infrastructure work is under progress and these are all theme based. For example, the government is planning laser tourism in Munsiyari, tea tourism for Kausani, and more.
