Taj Mahal at night is a sight to behold
If the Taj Mahal looks great during daytime, by night, it is simply breathtakingly beautiful, especially on the full moon nights. Did you know that every month, for five days, the Taj Mahal opens its gates to visitors for the night viewing? It’s two nights before the full moon, on the full moon night, and two nights after that you can experience the night viewing.
During the night viewing, visitors are allowed to enter the Taj Mahal complex after sunset and view the monument under the moonlight. On these aforementioned five days, you can see the Taj Mahal between 8:30 PM to 12:30 AM. Every visitor can spend only 30 minutes inside the complex.
Skip all Fridays and the month of Ramadan because that’s when night viewing of the Taj Mahal is closed for visitors. The night viewing of the Taj Mahal provides a unique and enchanting experience as the monument is beautifully lit up by floodlights, creating a magical atmosphere. However, it's important to note that the number of visitors allowed for the night viewing is limited and requires pre-booking.
As the night viewing is available only around the full moon night, the exact dates for the night viewing of the Taj Mahal can vary depending on the lunar calendar, and it's advisable to check with the official website of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) or Taj Mahal.
The tickets for the night viewing are available only one day before the date of the actual night viewing. The tickets can be procured from the office of Archaeological Survey of India (A.S.I.) between 10 AM to 6 PM.
