Egypt’s Tourism Revival Gains Momentum as France and UK Lead European Holiday Demand
France and UK are fueling Egypt’s tourism recovery as demonstrated by increasing holiday reservations and sales. Egypt’s tourism rebound was supported by strengthening demand from France, the UK and Germany, while the Italian market was recovering from a challenging spring season. According to booking data recorded in September and October 2026, there was an increase in both searching activity and agency sales of Egyptian holidays. At the same time, revenue from travel agencies’ sales is up, with Red Sea resorts, warm winter weather, All-Inclusive accommodation and special offers contributing to the demand. However, the figures are not entirely comparable, because different metrics are used. Nevertheless, the overall trend should be seen as a sign that the market’s confidence in Egypt as a destination has returned, despite a mixed global picture of arrivals.Egypt was placed ahead of Malta and Antalya in Turkey in TravelSupermarket’s Holiday Hotlist, updated on 2 October 2026 using September data. Winter sunshine, Red Sea resorts and value were cited as key attractions.
