Japan, Malaysia and More Push Thailand Past 22 Million Visitors in 2026
The first nine months of 2026 showed a positive trend for international tourism in Thailand with over 22 million visitors. Recovery was attributed to close by markets and slight decreases from the previous year.The country welcomed 22,183,678 international visitors between January 1 and September 19, 2026, representing a 3.67% decrease compared with the same period in 2025. Foreign tourist spending during the period reached THB1.082821 trillion, highlighting the continued economic importance of global travel demand for Thailand.
The latest tourism figures show that while overall arrivals remain slightly below last year’s level, several major markets have started showing stronger momentum as Thailand approaches its traditional high season.
