Gulmarg in Kashmir gets covered in 16 inches snow!

Gulmarg is experiencing extreme snowfall! As per meteorological department official in Srinagar, the city received 12.4 mm of rain within 24 hours, with temperatures dropping to 2.0°C compared to the previous night's 5.8°C. This temperature was 1.0°C higher than usual for this time of year in Kashmir.
Gulmarg witnessed heavy snowfall, accumulating 40 cm (nearly 16 inches) during this time period. Temperatures dropped to minus 2.8°C, 4.0°C above the usual for this famous skiing resort in north Kashmir.
In Jammu, 4.9mm of rain was reported, with temperatures hitting a minimum of 13.8°C, 3.3°C above normal for the winter capital of Jammu and Kashmir.
Other areas like Banihal received 59.0mm of rain, Batote saw 35.6mm, and Bhaderwah experienced 26.7mm of rain.
The weather forecast predicts an extended wet spell in Jammu and Kashmir until February 21. From February 19-20, light to moderate rain and snow are expected in most places, with the likelihood of heavy snowfall in specific districts.
