What’s next on the itinerary of MV Ganga Vilas, world’s longest river cruise?

On this epic maiden voyage, the luxury cruise MV Ganga Vilas explored the incredible inland waterways of over 3,200 km, 27 river systems and across five Indian states (Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Assam) and Dhaka in Bangladesh.
The journey focussed on the tourist attractions, big and small, in and around the waterways. Some of the more popular destinations were Patna Sahib, Bodh Gaya, Vikramshila, the city of Dhaka, the mangrove forest of the Sundarbans and Kaziranga National Park.
If you are wondering, why did it take so long for the cruise to reach Assam? That’s because the cruise comes with overland experiences as well. The guests get to enjoy a destination properly, halting for multiple days. Sometimes there are luxury tent cities and sometimes other heritage stays.
What’s next for MV Ganga Vilas?
Starting Thursday, March 2, 2023, MV Ganga Vilas will set sail on its second trip, that is, a 30-day voyage to Kolkata via Dhaka, Bangladesh. As per reports, the luxury river cruise is all booked for the next two years!
How much does this luxury river cruise cost, you ask? For the time period of 51 days, it costs approximately INR 20-25 Lakhs per person. The cost is the same for domestic and international guests. However, if the 51-day cruise is not what you are aiming for, you can also go for the shorter tours.
There are voyages like Europe on the Ganges, Temples, Tigers and Treasures, Secrets of Sunderbans, River Sutra, Incredible Benaras, Amazon of the East, Kolkata-Dhaka, Kolkata-Benaras, and Kolkata-Murshidabad Roundtrip. These are the shorter trips.
