Cruise ship will become operational by October in Bihar

The MV Ganga Vihar, which has the capacity to accommodate 100 people, was once a favourite spot for the Patnaites, who could be seen enjoying the food and view of the river. However, its operations came to a halt in 2018 due to a technical snag.
BSTDC Manager (travel and trades) Suman Kumar said that after the suspension of its operations, the ship was handed over to a firm for maintenance under public-private-partnership mode. “We are hopeful that the cruise ship will become operational by October,” he added
“One can either book the entire ship for a small get together or part of it involving nearly 100 people. There will also be booking option for individuals. Once repaired, the ship will be functional from 6 am to 10 pm,” Kumar said.
The ship-cum-floating restaurant was earlier operating on a daily basis from Gandhi Ghat. It used to cover nearly 10km distance in the Ganga covering important ghats, including Kali Ghat and NIT Ghat.
