Celebrate World Photography Day in photographer’s paradise: Hong Kong

Often regarded as the camera-friendly city in Asia, Hong Kong hosts plenty of picture-perfect locations, which beg to be captured as memorable snaps and re-live later through pictures. As we all celebrate world photography day, here are a few picturesque locations you must save for your next photo tour of Hong Kong:
The Art Lane Art Lane is Asia’s most famous street art location. It’s a living canvas for open street art, which implies that everything here is covered in artwork. Currently, several brightly coloured paintings adorn the facades of buildings in the region. Whether you’re seeking for a multicoloured canvas for your next drool-worthy Instagram selfie, Art Lane should be a stop!
Choi Hung Estate If you are fan of Hong Kong’s bright colourful side, chances are you might have seen the vibrant basketball court along side huge housing complex on your Instagram feed. The Choi Hung Estate is one of the oldest public housing estates in Hong Kong and houses over 18,000 people. The estate got its popularity in the photography world for it’s rainbow-coloured walls, hence getting the name “Choi Hung” which means rainbow in Chinese. Head up to the basketball court on the roof of the estate’s car park to get the best shot for your next photography walk.
Wai Yip Street Pedestrian Bridge Wai Yip Street Pedestrian Bridge is definitely the most recognisable picturesque spot from Hong Kong which everyone has seen at least once in their life through Instagram or Pinterest. Popularised by the famous blockbuster Hong Kong film Love in a Puff this overpass is often dubbed as “Chi Ming bridge”, after the male protagonist of the film.
Man Mo Temple Man Mo Temple is a popular tourist site in Hong Kong. The temple’s ceiling is the most stunning feature here, with lovely incense coils hanging from it. The interiors are intriguing and tranquil, making it one of Hong Kong’s most photographed temples. Since it was built as a centre of devotion, images can only be taken while the number of devotees is low
Lung Fu Shan The Instagramable Lau Shui Heung Country Trail is located inside the Pat Sin Leng Country Park in the northeastern New Territories and is known for its gorgeous reservoir as well as the high population of butterflies that live there.
It is one of the most-loved trails by hikers and photographers for its gorgeous surroundings and wildlife. The reservoir is often called the “Sky Mirror” because when there isn’t much wind, the hills and trees on the other side are beautifully mirrored on the surface of the reservoir. The river is also flanked by white melaleuca, paperbark, and bald cypress trees, some of which turn attractive orange and yellow in the fall. The white- flower derris, a vine that creeps up tree trunks, is also widely seen here. All these naturally beautiful aspects make Lung Fu Shan as the perfect spot for giving your photo walk in Hong Kong the right concluding picture. Kowloon City is a place where streets are full of history and culture blend seamlessly with striking ‘art pieces’ around the district. When the shops close, shutters roll down and turn into canvases full of colourful paintings!
