In 2024, South Africa welcomed 75,541 Indian tourists, marking a 79% recovery from pre-pandemic levels. This resurgence has fueled ambitious goals for 2025, with South African Tourism targeting a 16% increase in Indian arrivals.
MICE TOURISM: INDIA EMERGES AS A POWERHOUSE IN SOUTH AFRICA’S BUSINESS TRAVEL SECTOR
The MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) sector is now a dominant force in India’s outbound travel to South Africa. 49.6% of all Indian travelers to South Africa in 2024 fell under the business travel category, with MICE alone accounting for 20.2% of total arrivals.
