The infrastructure in Northeast India is experiencing significant advancements. This development promises to enhance transportation efficiency, providing a smoother and quicker journey for travelers.According to a recent article by The Shillong Times, the new road is expected to cut the travel time between Assam and Meghalaya by half. Built by Badri Rai And Company (BRC), the road extends 36 kilometers and cost over ₹78 crore to construct. It connects Damra in Assam to Bajengdoba in Meghalaya. Previously, the journey between these two points took approximately 1.5 hours, but with the new road, this time has been reduced to around 45 minutes.
The road is designed to be durable, with improvements that ensure a longer lifespan and a smoother, pothole-free experience for motorists. This enhancement will be particularly beneficial for residents of North Garo Hills (NGH), who will experience a more efficient connection to Assam.
